QUICK FACT 17

Since many symptoms of lupus mimic those of other illnesses, lupus often can take three to five years to diagnose. Symptoms of lupus can come and go over time, which makes a definite diagnosis more difficult.

Hey Simmi,

I can empathize with yr situ... cause this disease took me from a size 15/16 to 23/24 oh n those are getting tight. But at the end of the day I say "I have Lupus and Lupus doesn't have me". With God's help I write my signature on each day. I've had it for approx. 5 yrs and I'm still going strong.

All the best to you,

Rachael

Yes, it's unfortunate, but true. A lot of chronic sufferers of pain, etc., have to be so on top of things in order to make sure they're getting the right care and treatment.

Thanks for the comments ladies. It is very important for us to understand what is going on in our bodies, and be sure that we are cared for correctly.

Rachael, I have so many pairs of jeans that do not fit. The illness and medication make my weight fluctuate so much I just hold on to them, because I know I will be able to fit them again one day.
